Overview

— a quick tour of the management console

The Management Console includes three interfaces:

Configuration —

Create and define your network topology.

Fault Management —

Monitor routers and AIS.

User Management —

Manage customers and operators.

Each of these interfaces is closely linked with your NetInjector publisher and subscriber applications.

• The configuration of the network contributes to the process of creating and distributing notifications.
• The fault management of the network affects network usage and reliability.
• Customer and operator account management directly affects customer satisfaction and operational profitability, both crucial to the successful deployment of applications.

In this chapter, we will review the basics of each interface. As the NetInjector administrator must first create and define a network, we focus our attention especially on the Configuration interface.
