| Tandem Switching lets Service Providers cooperate by allowing the resale of route usage. |
| Each Service Provider who purchases the use of another provider’s route receives an Account Number. The application can service multiple calls from the same Account Number simultaneously. |
| When calls are forwarded from that Service Provider’s network to the application, this Account Number as well as the telephone number being called (Number-to-Call) are passed through as part of the call’s header. The application checks the Service Provider’s account balance against a preset minimum balance. If the balance checks out, the system routes the call according to the application’s criteria. |
Notify Balance |
| When an Account Balance reaches a preset Notify Balance value, e-mail is automatically sent to the appropriate individuals informing them their account needs replenishing. |
Minimum Balance |
| Once an Account Balance reaches a preset Minimum Balance or below, no further service is provided on that account. |
